It’s a busy time in the Atlantic Basin, with major hurricane Humberto and newly formed Tropical Storm Jerry. In addition, Tropical Depression Imelda is bringing heavy rain to the Houston, TX area.
Humberto is now pulling away from Bermuda where 100 mph winds hit the island on Wednesday Night
While the storm stays hundreds of miles south and east of our coastline, distant swells from the storm will bring high surf and dangerous rip currents to our ocean-exposed beaches.
There’s a moderate to high risk of rip currents now thru Friday
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Jerry is expected to slowly strengthen as it moves to the west-northwest this week. Our computer guidance is leaning towards a turn out to sea for this storm, but we’ll keep an eye on it.
