Tough timing for the heat and humidity to build into Southern New England this week. Many school districts begin school this week, and most classrooms will likely be pretty uncomfortable for the teachers and students.
On Monday, we’ll see temperatures rise into the upper 80s to around 90 in the afternoon with rising humidity levels. On Tuesday and Wednesday, however, temperatures will soar into the 90s.
The humidity levels will be higher Tuesday and Wednesday as well, making it feel even worse.
Feel like temperatures will rise above 100° for a good portion of our area Tuesday and Wednesday.
Heat Advisories will likely be posted for parts of Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts.
Other parts of Massachusetts have already planned for half days during this bout of high heat and humidity. Lawrence and Haverhill both will have half days for a couple days this week.
Thursday will be a transition day, but it still could be quite warm with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Dew points may drop a bit through the day, depending on the timing of a cold front. That front may also spark a shower or t’storm during the afternoon.
Friday will be cooler and less humid.
Be sure to stay hydrated and take it easy this week!
