FLOOD “WATCH” REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON

After very heavy rain in some areas Monday, more rain is expected Today with localized street and urban flooding. Also watching the Woonasquatucket River in Centerdale Rhode Island for minor to moderate flooding in sections of North Providence along those river banks. Other smaller rivers and streams will need to be monitored next 24 hours.

FLOOD WARNING, for areas in red until 1230AM

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM EDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall
  continues.

* WHERE...A portion of northern Rhode Island, including the
  following counties, Kent and Providence.

* WHEN...Until 1230 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1004 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated small streams and
    creeks had not yet crested due to heavy rainfall earlier
    today. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area.
    Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Providence, Warwick, Cranston, Pawtucket, Coventry,
    Cumberland, North Providence, West Warwick, Johnston,
    Smithfield, Lincoln, Central Falls, Burrillville, North
    Smithfield, Scituate, Glocester and Foster

Areas in yellow, orange, and red have received 3 to 6 inches of rain so far. Cranston has had 7.05″ of rain so far.
