Stay “weather aware” Today with the risk of scattered thunderstorms (at times) both morning and into the early afternoon. Some thunderstorms may be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts and hail. There’s a “slight risk” of an isolated tornado….even though the chance is small, it’s something that will need to be monitored. RI PRIMARY DAY FORECAST: Humid with showers and a few strong thunderstorms

There will be a bit of a lull with skies turning partly sunny by late afternoon, then another round of showers and a few thunderstorms arrive just after 7 pm

The “Severe Storms Prediction Center” has placed our area under a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms. There is the chance for a few stronger/severe thunderstorms. Any storms that develop could contain strong winds, small hail and heavy rain. In addition, there is a very low risk for an isolated, brief tornado.

A nice streak of weather starts Wednesday, with cool, crisp, fall-like air moving in for Thursday and Friday.
