Much better! Skies will clear in the morning, and lower humidity will spill into the area. Highs will be in the 70s.
The latest forecast track from the National Hurricane Center has the path of Lee tracking about 200 miles east of Cape Cod by early Saturday morning….. We are still not anticipating a direct hit, but still getting grazed with some rain and wind. The worst weather looks to be on the Cape and Islands
A landfall is still expected in either northeastern Maine or Nova Scotia.
However, the storm will be coming close enough to give us some rain and strong wind gusts. Lee, as a Category 1, could pass about 200 miles southeast of Chatham on early Saturday morning. Winds could be gusting to 35-50 mph in our area but gusts to 60-70mph are possible on the outer Cape and Nantucket.
With such saturated ground due to all the rain over the last several days, these winds could topple trees and scattered power outages are possible late Friday night into Saturday morning.
