Hometown Hero: Garrett Doyle

Hometown Hero

This week’s Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses Hometown Sports Hero is Lincoln High School’s Garrett Doyle.

At the New Balance Nationals, the senior threw the weight for a personal best 74’8″, good for a second place finish and All-American honors.

The throw capped a two-week run that saw Doyle also take home the New England title and gold at the Hershey Youth Championships. He begins his final outdoor season aiming for the school record of 205 feet in the hammer throw, a mark that was set in 1985 by Paul Rao.

Garrett’s success in the circle has earned him plenty of college attention and he’s narrowed his focus to the University of Maryland and the Ohio State University.
