PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Lucas Mercuri scored with 48 seconds left in regulation, giving No. 15 UMass a 3-2 victory over No. 5 Providence in men’s hockey Thursday night.

The loss snaps a nine-game unbeaten streak for the Friars. The two will face off again Saturday at Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass.
