SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Andre Brackett returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, Daniel Adeboboy ran for 145 yards and a score and Bryant held off Long Island University 27-22 on Saturday.
Bryant (2-5, 2-1 Northeast Conference) used Brackett’s return and Luke Samperi’s 33-yard field goal to forge a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Long Island (0-5, 0-4) stormed back with Clay Beathard’s 2-yard TD run and Briant DeFelice’s 30-yard field goal to knot the score at 10 at halftime.

Adeboboy scored on a 39-yard run to push the Bulldogs’ lead to 24-10 and Samperi capped the scoring with a 31-yard field goal 5 seconds into the final quarter.
Beathard hit Alex Daubon for a 9-yard score early in the fourth and added a 2-yard TD run with 5:34 left to play. Beathard drove the Sharks to the Bryant 35-yard line before throwing incomplete on fourth-and-6.
