Every child has the right to not only an education, but also to an education that is high quality.

Heather Grocott of The Children’s Workshop shared that following regarding the importance of high-quality education:

According to the National Association for the Education of Young Children:

  • Young children deserve excellent early care and education
  • High quality early experiences influence a child’s lifelong academic and social success
  • High quality programs must be accessible to all families
  • Effective early learning must be challenging and developmentally appropriate

Research shows us that high quality early learning experiences help close later achievement gaps, and that children who have high quality early learning experiences have better outcomes.

Additionally, a child’s readiness for school depends on meeting his/her developmental needs, which includes physical development, language development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, and cognitive development.

If children begin their early elementary years behind, chances are they will continue to stay behind in school. Research also shows us that high quality early learning and care have other positive effects such as:

  • Greater school success
  • Higher graduation rates
  • Lower instances of juvenile crime
  • Decreased need for special education services in elementary school

At The Children’s Workshop, high quality Care and education is our mission. We believe high quality early learning experiences lead children to be life-long learners. In order to ensure continuous high quality care, you can look for the following when vising our schools:

  • NAEYC Accreditation – we have schools that are national accredited
  • Well trained staff – we pride ourselves on having highly qualified teachers and staff teaching young children
  • Commitment toward continuous quality improvement
  • Meaningful, research-based curriculum framework
  • High quality, developmentally appropriate learning environments
  • Play-based approach
  • Commitment to the well-being and success of the whole child
