Celebrate Endangered Species Day at the zoo

On The Rhode

Over 50% of the world’s species are estimated to be at risk of extinction. Roger Williams Park Zoo works closely with 232 other accredited zoos on one of the most powerful tools to help threatened and endangered species – Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE), a program managed by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The goal is to engage and educate visitors about our conservation initiatives, and how they impact local, regional, and global environments. Brendan Kirby visits the zoo and some of their endangered species like the tree kangaroo, gibbons, and red wolf in celebration of Endangered Species Day.
