May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month

Rhode Island has the highest rate of bladder cancer in the nation, with about 400 new cases diagnosed every year.

This morning on ‘The Rhode Show’ we spoke with Dr. Dragan Golijanin, surgeon and bladder cancer expert with the Minimally Invasive Urology Institute at The Miriam Hospital who discussed why he thinks Rhode Island has the worst rate of bladder cancer in the nation. He was joined by Marie Costa, a bladder cancer patient who understands firsthand the importance of early detection.
