Each year, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer hosts events around the country in an effort to raise awareness and much-needed funding for breast cancer research and treatment.
This year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16. We meet at Kennedy Plaza where people can register as early as 7:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m. We will have live entertainment and a survivors’ VIP area where they can pick up their survivor’s sash and be recognized and made to feel special. We have plenty of room for individuals and teams to sign up.
But first, next Thursday night is the organization’s kickoff event at the Renaissance Hotel in Providence. Dr. Christine Emmick of the Center for Breast Care at University Surgical Associates is the featured speaker. It is free and open to the public.
In the above video, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Community Manager Kelley Lorde and Dr. Emmick join us in studio to discuss the event.
