Celebrate Japanese culture with The Black Ships Festival

Celebrating its 35th year, The Japan America Society of Rhode Island celebration takes place this weekend, July 13-15. Beginning in Newport in 1984, they are pleased to expand the Festival to Bristol this summer! The Black Ships Festival is a celebration of the friendship between the country of Japan and the state of Rhode Island in commemoration of Commodore Matthew C. Perry.

This morning on 'The Rhode Show' we were joined by Steve Aveson who shared details on what we can expect.
