Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival- One of the East Coast’s most sophisticated and anticipated events returns for its 13th year! Miss Saigon at PPAC- The Providence Performing Arts Center is launching the national tour of “Miss Saigon”! Experience the acclaimed new production of the legendary musical, from the creators of Les Misérables. This is the epic story of a young Vietnamese woman named Kim. In a bar run by a notorious character called The Engineer, Kim meets an American G.I. That encounter will change their lives forever. Featuring stunning spectacle, a sensational cast of 42, and a soaring score including Broadway hits like “Last Night of the World,” “The Movie in My Mind,” and “The Heat is On in Saigon,” this is a theatrical event you will never forget. The Show kick off PPAC’s 90th Anniversary Season!
StyleWeek Northeast- New England’s premier fashion week is back showcasing up and coming designers at the RI Convention Center.
WaterFire Providence- All Full WaterFire installations light up over eighty braziers from Waterplace Park to Memorial/South Main Street Park on the below scheduled evenings. Lighting occurs shortly after sunset and the event continues until half past midnight. This lighting will also feature a Salute to Rhode Island Educators tarting at 4:30 pm in Memorial Park. Together with the community we celebrate our successes in education across Rhode Island, showcase interesting and successful projects, and commending teachers and educators who have been recognized for excellence. WaterFire and the Rhode Island Department of Education invite everyone to Memorial Park in the afternoon for an award ceremony followed by a torch ceremony recognizing and thanking our educators.
