EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Last year, state lawmakers passed a law in an effort to protect Rhode Islanders from gun violence.

If police believe someone poses a safety risk, that person could lose access to firearms for up to 12 months.

One year later, Target 12 takes a closer look at how often the law has been put into action so far, revealing which cities and towns are using the law more than others.
