PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has awarded WPRI 12 Eyewitness News two regional 2019 Edward R. Murrow Awards. The Murrow Awards recognize work of the highest quality produced by radio, television and digital news organizations around the world.

WPRI 12 Eyewitness News advances to the National Murrow Award competition in the categories of Hard News and Excellence in Sound. Target 12 Investigative Reporter Tim White and Photographer John Villella were named regional winners in the Hard News category for their report titled The Craig Price Confession. Villella and Reporter Walt Buteau also advance to the National Murrow Award competition after being named winners in the regional category of Excellence in Sound for Street Stories: Rhode Island Bucket Drummers.
