Woman’s body pulled from Providence river

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A woman’s body was pulled from the Providence River on Tuesday morning.

East Providence Police said a passerby noticed the woman’s body around 11 a.m. in the water in the Riverside section of the city.

Police said they have confirmed the identity of the woman but are not yet releasing her name.

Authorities said there are no signs of foul play, but the death is listed as suspicious due to the circumstances.

The woman is believed to be in her late 20s-early 30s. She was wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue sweatpants with green running sneakers.Courtney Caligiuri contributed to this report.
