LAKEVILLE, Mass. (WPRI) — Police are investigating a crash in Lakeville that left one woman dead and three other people injured.

The two-car collision took place on Highland Road near Bedford Street just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.  Two people were inside each car.

A passenger in one of the vehicles, 51-year-old Debra Cook-Warren of Mashpee, had to be extricated from the wreckage by emergency responders. She was later pronounced dead at Morton Hospital in Taunton.

Both drivers and another passenger were also taken to Morton Hospital for what police termed “various degrees of injuries.”

Lakeville Police were still investigating the crash as of Thursday morning, with help from the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Plymouth County Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
