PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — The Pawtucket Red Sox says they’re turning McCoy Stadium into a winter wonderland for fans.
The team is hosting the first “PawSox Enchanted Village” at the Pawtucket stadium from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Pawtucket Red Sox outfielder Bryce Brentz and former Red Sox catcher Rich Gedman, the PawSox hitting coach, plan to attend to meet fans.
The team’s mascots, Paws and Sox, Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster and Santa Claus also plan to go to the party.
Among the other highlights, fans can audition for a chance to sing the National Anthem before a PawSox game and children can practice their swing inside the home batting tunnel.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a Toys for Tots collection.
The event is free.
