Weather Now: Periods of Fog, Drizzle, and Mist Today

Weather Now:

From Meteorologist Pete Mangione: Periods of dizzle and fog will continue today.  More rain showers move in overnight into Friday morning, and then it’s all about the wind Friday night into Saturday!

Here is Meteorologist Michelle Muscatello with more details:

A cool and gloomy afternoon is ahead, with overcast skies and pockets of drizzle and mist.

An area of low pressure moving to our south is going to keep damp ocean air locked in over southeastern New England.  While there won’t be much measurable rain, it will be dreary.

Additional showers are likely tonight and into early Friday as another frontal system approaches. As a warm front pushes through, a return of unseasonably warm air is likely Friday afternoon.

The risk of showers will continue through mid-day, before skies clear and winds pick up in the afternoon/evening.

Temperatures will briefly soar into the 50s (even near 60 in spots) ahead of a cold front.

That front will bring significantly cooler air for the weekend.  Add in strong wind gusts, and wind chills will feel bitterly cold compared to temperatures on Friday.

The good news–the weekend will be chilly but it will be dry and sunny.  Wind gusts up to 40mph on Saturday will keep wind chills mostly in the ‘teens to near 20 in the afternoon.
