It looks like we’ll be seeing milder air arrive a bit sooner into Southern New England and the end result will be less snow. Generally 2-4″ are expected north and west of Providence (including the city), and 1-2″ south of Providence. Snow will turn to sleet and freezing rain (briefly) then all rain Sunday morning.

The precipitation shuts off by mid afternoon Sunday, but temperatures will make a quick drop below freezing late Sunday afternoon and evening. Any water on area roads will turn to ice.
