Warwick man arrested with burglar’s tools in Rehoboth car lot


REHOBOTH, MASS. (WPRI) – A Warwick man was arrested after he was caught on a car dealership’s lot with burglar’s tools, Rehoboth police said.

Rehoboth police said that an officer was checking the Herb Chambers lot on Winthrop Street at about 11:20 p.m. Friday when he saw a person walking between some of the parked vehicles.

The man, identified as 49 year-old Michael Farias of Warwick, was carrying a screwdriver, a pair of gloves and a flashlight. Police said that the van Farias had driven to the dealership “contained numerous items commonly used in the theft of tires and rims from motor vehicles.”

Police arrested Farias and charged him with possession of burglarious tools; he will be formally arraigned Monday in Taunton District Court.
