WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WPRI) — The Warwick North Little League team lost their first World Series game on Thursday.

Ryan Harlost, the starting pitcher for New York, was dominant – both on the mound and at the plate. He hit a three-run homer in the first inning to put New York on the board – and from there Warwick had a lot of catching up to do. After a rain delay and two quick runs in the sixth inning, Warwick fell 7-2.

They will play the loser of the Northwest & Southeast on Saturday.

Warwick arrived in Pennsylvania on Sunday after winning the New England regional tournament in Bristol, Connecticut. The team traveled to Williamsport with the team from New York.

“Our kids became good friends with those guys,” Rix said. “It was a fun ride down for the kids.”

All of the teams participated Wednesday in the World Series’ Grand Slam Parade. Thursday, the series officially got underway with the opening ceremonies.Eyewitness Sports Reporter Mark Dondero is in Williamsport and will have live reports beginning on Thursday.
