PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — It’s now easier to get voter registration information for Rhode Island on the smaller screens of your smartphone or tablet computer.
The Rhode Island Secretary of State’s office announced their new mobile tool now available for voters, the mobile version of their Voter Information Center. Anyone can check their voting registration status, their polling place location, and even view a sample ballot.

“We encourage everyone to use this tool to check their local voting information… [so that] voters know where to go vote and feel prepared going into the voting booth,” Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea said Friday.
The Voter Information Center is available in English and Spanish, and has constantly updated, customized information for upcoming elections.
“We live in a mobile-driven society and I have made it a priority to modernize our elections so that folks can find the information they need, when they need it,” Gorbea said.
Polling hours differ statewide for the Presidential Preference Primary, so checking your polling place’s hours is highly advised, Gorbea’s office said.
If you discover you’re not able to vote at your polling place on Election Day, Gorbea’s office encourages you to go to your city or town hall and get an emergency mail ballot. That service is available through April 25. The primary election is April 26.
