Tips coming in about young girl found dead on Deer Island_188750

BOSTON (WPRI) — A candlelight vigil was held Saturday night for “Baby Doe,” one month after the discovery of her body on Deer Island.

The event was organized by a private group and is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on the island.

The girl’s body was discovered on June 25th on the western shore of the island and police have not yet been able to identify the four year-old. Investigators released a computer-generated image of what the girl might have looked like and have been seeking information from the public.

Police set up an anonymous text tip number at 67283, keyword GIRL, and set up a dedicated phone line for tips at 617-396-5655.

State Police said Friday that they have received a number of tips and possible leads from members of the public but have ruled out several which have been “frequently” submitted to investigators: the names Aliayah Lunsford of West Virginia, Ayla Reynolds of Maine, and Caleigh Harrison of Rockport.

Police continue to urge the public to submit their tips via text or phone call.
