According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, a blue SUV struck a pedestrian on Route 18 North near the Route 195 ramps at about 2:10 a.m.

The victim was taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital and then Rhode Island Hospital, where he later died, according to the DA’s office.

Police said the vehicle could be a BMW X5 but a positive identification has not been made. It should have front-end damage and might have a leaking radiator.
