At least 14 people dead after possible tornado in Alabama

LEE COUNTY, AL (WPRI) — At least 14 people have been confirmed dead after a possible tornado sparked by severe storms left a trail of destruction in Alabama Sunday.

Multiple homes in Beauregard were reduced to rubble, while others were severely damaged.

An Alabama sheriff says the search continues where people who are still reported missing.

He said they are also working to identify all the people killed, but that their effort right now is focused on search and rescue.

WRBL-TV reports triage is going on across East Alabama and Harris County, Georgia, where there are still active tornado warnings in effect.
