BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WPRI) — URI’s run in the A-10 tournament came to an end against St. Bonaventure Saturday afternoon.
Coming off their upset win against VCU 75-70 on Friday, the Rams were looking to carry that momentum against the Bonnies.
The Rams got ahead early in the first half, leading 29-14 with about four minutes to go, but that would be the last points of the half they would score as St. Bonaventure would score 13 unanswered to bring it to a two-point game, with the Rams leading 29-27 at the half.
The Bonnies kept that momentum going into the second half as the Rams were not able to get any offense, scoring just 22 points in the final 24 minutes of the game, as the Bonnies move on with the win 68-51.
St. Bonaventure will now play the winner of Davidson and St. Louis for the A-10 Championship. The winner of that game will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Final Four Tournament.
