Tyson recalls chicken nuggets, cites possible rubber contamination

(WPRI) — Tyson Foods, Inc. has issued a recall for some of its chicken nugget products due to possible contamination, specifically with rubber.

According to the US Department of Agriculture, approximately 36,420 pounds of panko chicken nugget items are subject to this recall.

The USDA said the items were shipped nationwide and are five-pound packages of “Tyson WHITE MEAT PANKO CHICKEN NUGGETS” that have a “BEST IF USED BY” date of Nov. 26, 2019, and have a “P-13556” code inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Consumers who have purchased the products are urged to return them or throw them away.

There have been no reports of illness or injury.
