EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Tyson is recalling nearly 200,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken fritters because they may contain pieces of hard plastic.

According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the products were distributed to schools and institutions nationwide.

  • 32.81-lb. cases containing four 8.2-lb. bags of “FULLY COOKED, WHOLE GRAIN GOLDEN CRISPY CHICKEN CHUNK FRITTERS-CN” and case code 0599NHL02.

FSIS learned of the problem after three schools complained that they found plastic material inside of the fritters. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
