Two Providence men killed in Fall River highway crash

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) – Two men are dead after a single-vehicle crash on Route 24 in Fall River Sunday morning.

Massachusetts State Police said that it happened at about 1:30 on Route 24 northbound south of Exit 8A.

A 2003 Mercury was heading north when it apparently veered off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The 36 year-old driver and a 23 year-old passenger, both men from Providence, were pronounced dead at a hospital in Fall River.

Another passenger, a 23 year-old man whose hometown police did not release, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. There’s no word on that person’s condition.

The crash is still under investigation by the State Police.
