Two people are safe after sailboat accident in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — Coast Guard officials say two people are safe after a minor incident involving a sailboat in Jamestown.

It happened just after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night.

A part of the boat’s mast broke off and struck the Jamestown bridge.

Kingstown Marine 5 was first on the scene. They monitored the sailboat until they could get to the nearest mooring at Plum Beach.
