FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WPRI) – Two people were injured after being struck by a car in Fairhaven Saturday morning.

The two victims were walking on Sycamore Street near Winsor Street at about 2 a.m. when they were struck from behind by a car, which fled the area after the crash.

A passing snowplow driver found the two people in the street, about 25 feet from where police believe they were hit. Both were unconscious when found, although the male victim regained consciousness, and both were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital. The other victim, a woman, was subsequently airlifted to Boston Medical Center for further treatment.

Anyone who saw or heard the accident is asked to contact the Fairhaven Police Department at 508-997-7421.
