PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after two children were hit by a vehicle in Providence and the driver fled the scene.

According to city police, a 12-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl were riding bicycles in the area of Roanoke Street at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday when they were struck.

Both children were transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Police said the boy suffered a head injury and is in stable condition while the girl’s injuries were not serious.

Investigators are now looking for the vehicle involved. Police said it’s a silver, four-door Toyota sedan bearing license plate 393-587.
