CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — A man was injured Saturday morning while clearing trees at Burlingame State Park in Charlestown, Dept. of Environmental Management officials confirmed.

According to Gail Mastrati of the DEM, a man was hurt while working on a truck around 10 a.m.

She said the truck rolled back on him – crushing his leg. Police said the man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

According to Mastrati, the man is being treated for a potentially broken leg.

DEM said the area is mostly clear and campers are allowed back – after they were asked to stay away so that crews could clear any damage from Tuesday’s storm.
