Tiverton High School dismissed as odor is investigated

TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Tiverton High School students are being sent home for the day after a hazmat team was brought in to investigate a reported odor.

Police and fire crews also responded to the school Friday morning after the odor was reported near the cafeteria.

The building was evacuated out of an abundance of caution and officials later called for dismissal.

In a tweet, the Tiverton School District said testing conducted by the fire department came up negative for any potentially harmful gases.
