The deadline to register to vote in Massachusetts’s Primary Election is approaching

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) – The New Bedford Board of Election Commissioners is reminding the public that the last day to register to vote and to change party enrollment for the Massachusetts Primary Election is Friday, August 19th.

That deadline is also the last day for voters to let the Board of Elections know of any address or name changes.

To allow the residents more time to complete the voter registration process, the New Bedford Board of Election Office, located in New Bedford City Hall at 133 William Street, will stay open on August 19th until 8PM.

The State Primaries will be held on Thursday, September 8th.

The Board of Election Commissioners is also reminding voters that absentee ballots for the State Election are now available.

To allow more time for voters to cast an absentee ballot, the Election Office will be open on Saturday, September 3rd from 8 AM until Noon.
