ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced some temporary overnight lane closures in Attleboro.

All southbound lanes on Interstate 95 near Exit 4 will be shut down for a brief period of time between the hours of Thursday at 11:59 p.m. and Friday at 3 a.m.

The closure will allow MassDOT to install sign infrastructure and should only take about 20 minutes.

Highway Division District 5 will be installing an overhead sign on Interstate 95 Southbound near the newly reconstructed ramp to I-295 Southbound or Exit 4.

The work will involve the hoisting and connecting of the frames that will support the overhead sign.

Please note that if the work can’t be completed during that time frame, the road will be re-opened and a second closure will be implemented as warranted.

Drivers in that area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

MassDOT also notes that the schedule for these operations is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
