Suspect arrested; lockdown at Warwick school lifted

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A lockdown at Hoxsie Elementary School is over.

Security measures were taken as a precaution Thursday afternoon while police searched for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop in the area.

Police said a male juvenile is in custody and is facing several charges including operating without a license, operating without consent of the owner, and reckless and eluding.

Police said the students at the school were not in danger.
