Students hurt in South Kingstown school bus crash

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — A school bus carrying students from the Bradley School in South Kingstown was involved in a crash Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the bus left Route 1 in the area of Ridge Road and went up an embankment just after 2:30 p.m. No other vehicles were involved.

Three of the four students that were on the bus were transported to South County Hospital with apparent minor injuries.

Police said the female driver may have suffered a medical issue while behind the wheel. She was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.
