Stop & Shop recalls children’s cough medication for incorrect dosage markings

QUINCY, Mass. (WPRI) — Stop & Shop has removed children’s cough medication from its stores due to incorrect dosage markings, which could result in a possible overdose, the company announced Saturday.

According to a news release, Stop & Shop recalled Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough after a recall by Perrigo Company plc.

The following product is included in this recall:

  • Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough – Cherry Flavor, 4 oz., UPC 34152031837 with an expiration date of 3/17

To date, the company has received no reports of injuries.

Customers who purchased the medicine should discard any remaining portions and bring their receipt to a Stop & Shop location for a full refund.
