South Kingstown police car involved in crash, four people hurt

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – A South Kingstown police officer was among four people hurt in a two-car crash Saturday night.

According to the Rhode Island State Police, the officer was in a marked cruiser and responding to a call at about 9:30 p.m. when it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Routes 1 and 138.

The officer and the three people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation and no other details on the collision were immediately available.
