Second arrest made in Pawtucket shooting investigation

Pawtucket West Avenue shooting suspects

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Police say they’ve made a second arrest after a man was shot and wounded in Pawtucket last Saturday.

Police allege Helton Rodrigues, and Sergio Garcia are responsible for a weekend shooting at a convenience store on the corner of West and Jefferson Avenues where a man was shot four times but survived.

On Friday morning, police announced the arrest of Garcia. The 18-year-old from Central Falls was taken into custody Thursday night by the Violent Fugitive Task Force at a North Providence home. He will be arraigned in court later Friday morning on several charges, including attempted murder.

Rodrigues, 19, was arrested Wednesday at his Central Falls home on several charges, including assault with intent to commit murder, according to city police.

The shooting victim was listed in stable condition.
