PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – A two-car crash and rollover led to a heavy traffic backup on 95 southbound at exit 26 in Pawtucket Sunday evening.

Rhode Island State Police were called to the scene just before 6:30p.m.

A driver traveling in the low speed lane lost control of their vehicle, which struck a car traveling two lanes over causing that car to hit the jersey barrier. The first car rolled over onto its roof as a result of the crash.

All four passengers in both vehicles, three adults and one child, were transported by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital to be evaluated. The passengers suffered only minor injuries.

RI State Police troopers credit all of the passengers wearing their seat belts for the outcome.

State Police reported heavy traffic in the area from 6:30-7p.m. The crash was cleared by 7:20p.m. with both cars being towed from the scene.
