EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — East Providence police are investigating a rollover crash that happened right down the road from their headquarters.
The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. Wednesday on Waterman Avenue.
A neighbor said he heard a loud screech outside his home before running outside to help the driver out of the car. He also said the driver was a young woman and no one else was in the car with her.
Police confirmed Thursday morning that the driver suffered some scrapes and bruises and complained of neck and back pain. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Police said alcohol was not a factor.
