RI team heading to Little League World Series

BRISTOL, Conn. (WPRI) — For the second straight year and three times in the last five years, a Rhode Island Little League team will be heading to Williamsport, Pa. for the Little League World Series.

The boys from Cranston Western defeated the New Hampshire team 10-4 Sunday in the New England Regionals championship game.

Rhode Island hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for Rhode Island came when Nick Mason homered in the third inning, Dylan Demers homered in the third inning, and Jared Olson homered in the fourth inning.

Pitcher Cam Adamec got the win – allowing three runs over four innings; striking out four, walking four and giving up four hits.

According to GameChanger, Cranston Western Little League finished the 2015 Little League Baseball New England Region Tournament with a 4-1 record. Throughout the tournament, the team outscored opponents 33-14.

The team will now represent New England in the Little League World Series.
