KANSAS CITY (WPRI) — The Patriots aren’t the only thing with a New England flare in Kansas city this weekend.
Two brothers from Scituate welcome in all Rhode Islanders for a ‘slice’ of home ahead of Sunday’s big game.
It’s a taste of Providence in Kansas City. Brothers Aaron and Luke Salvatore have been firing up pies at Providence Pizza for the last five years.
“When we wanted to display what are we doing here, what is Providence? Providence is, is Italian, it’s pizza, it’s culture. So we wanted to share that with Kansas City,” Aaron Salvatore said.
And they pay homage to home in every way possible; from the business name to decore on the walls featuring pictures of all Rhode Island pizza institutions, to the names of the pizzas themselves.
“If there’s a New Englander in town they come here, they at least find us,” Luke Salvatore said.
“Once this place opened up, it’s like, I have Providence here all year long,” North Kingstown native Colin said.
“We get people from Rhode Island all the time and they always talk about the classic Rhode Island things,” Aaron Salvatore said.
The Salvatore brothers also tell us, they’ll be in attendance at Sunday’s game.
“We don’t go to Arrowhead Stadium very often, for this we’ll be there,” Aaron Salvatore said.
The Salvatore brothers were at the Patriots’ 2014 blowout loss on Monday night football. They said they’re hoping for a different outcome on Sunday.
