EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) — For the second year in a row, a Rhody pup is getting national attention in Animal Planet’s annual Puppy Bowl.
“Goose is on team Ruff in the Puppy Bowl,” Tammy Gallo, Director of the East Greenwich Animal Protection League, said.
And to honor Goose for his stellar performance in the show, the East Greenwich Animal Protection League held its own live Puppy Bowl at its headquarters at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston.
“He did very well on the football field this year, so he did get camera time,” Gallo said.
The pups were playing hard on Sunday, and fans could watch the event in person or live on social media.
“This event today will help care for our animals we have coming in. We also have about 63 puppies that are, or will be available for adoption in the coming weeks,” Gallo said.
You can learn more about adopting one of those puppies by contacting the East Greenwich Animal Protection League.
And if you’re wondering who took home this year’s Puppy Bowl Championship, it was Team Ruff.
“Goose actually made the international starting lineup, which is big for all the dogs. Not all the dogs get to go out into the starting lineup on the Puppy Bowl football field,” Gallo said.
