PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – Rhode Island’s LGBTQ PrideFest celebrated its 40th anniversary in the capital city.

LGBTQ standing for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning individuals — and this year’s theme was “indivisible.”

The free event this year featured over 100 vendors and a variety of performance programs, including a feature from American Idol season nine’s runner-up, Crystal Bowersox.

The illuminated night parade began at 8:45pm Saturday at the corner of Dorrance and Weybosset streets and traveled through downtown.
