Rhode Islanders being warned about usage of drones

News

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – The Rhode Island Airport Corporation is sending out a warning about the usage of drones.

There are a number of upcoming spring/summer events and unmanned aerial systems have gained in popularity in recent years.

Officials want to remind anyone wishing to operate a drone within Rhode Island must first obtain permission from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Rhode Island State Police and local law enforcement departments will be out enforcing the law.
